At the beginning of this week I made a flying visit to Spain for 36 hours. Bonkers I know, but there was lots to get sorted and it's often easier to do that in person. It is always a good thing to show my face there too and I haven't done enough of that recently, and I most definitely need to find a way of practising speaking the language! I did have a 3am start on Monday but I don't think the state of my Spanish can all be put down to that ...

When living every day life here in the UK it's all too easy to forget what a formative time our Andalucian adventure was for all of us. The fact that my Spanish was so bad this time (which made me feel really awful) also made me realise the enormity of what we did .. heading out there with our three children aged 11, 9 and 7, and none of us speaking a word of Spanish. I feel really lucky to have done what we did but it was a really huge challenge .. I would say generally a good one!
Here are a few pics of vast landscapes and a few other things that remind me of our time there.

It was Ben's birthday yesterday and inspired by a delicious 'Ensalada de Tomate' I had eaten in Spain, I decided to make my version of a yummy Panzanella which we sat and ate in the sunshine. It is so simple to put together and is perfect on a warm day - the key is to make sure you use delicious ripe tomatoes, and a glug of White Balsamic if you are doing my version - if you have those then you can't go wrong.

We're always here if you need us!
Have a happy weekend
